Research Theme Leader: Sustainable Futures (Associate Professor or Professor, 5-year contract)

The University of the Free State (UFS), under Vision 130, invites applications for the role of Research Theme Leader: Sustainable Futures. The successful candidate will develop and implement a strategic vision and roadmap for the Sustainable Futures theme, positioning UFS as a national and global leader in sustainability science. The role requires leadership of cross-faculty transdisciplinary research, competitive external funding, postgraduate mentorship, and stakeholder engagement. PhD required. Closing date: 19 June 2026.
