**Job Description**

**Who we’re looking for:**

The UW Medicine - Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (DLMP) in Seattle, WA has a fantastic opportunity for a one (1) year appointment **Research Scientist 1** with the **Greninger Lab** at **South Lake Union** .

As a Research Scientist 1, you will perform technical procedures in Dr. Greninger’s virology research laboratory including, but not limited to, PCR, qPCR, next generation sequencing (NGS), DNA and RNA extractions on biological samples, cell culture, and cloning. You will report the results, organize documents and keep records. Major duties and responsibilities include performing cell culture and viral culture to characterize function of viral non-structural genes, as well as assisting with troubleshooting with existing assays and methodological development of new assays.
