Position Overview

The Faculty of Physics of Bielefeld University has an opening for a postdoctoral position in the field of lattice QCD at finite temperature and density, with starting date September 1, 2026, or soon thereafter. It will be funded by the Wuebben Foundation. The successful candidate will work in the group of Prof. Gert Aarts. It is envisioned that research will be carried out in the context of the international FASTSUM collaboration. Moreover the Collaborative Research Center CRC TRR 211 Strongly Interacting Matter under Extreme Conditions, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), will offer an inspiring environment and a broad scientific network. The duration of the position is for 2 years.

development and running of lattice QCD simulation and analysis codes, in the context of thermal QCD ensembles on highly anisotropic lattices

participation in biweekly FASTSUM collaboration meetings
