The project addresses a key challenge: while environmental and infrastructure datasets exist in various open-access GIS platforms, they are scattered across multiple portals, complex to analyse, and inaccessible to most community groups without specialist skills. As a result, the crucial early scoping stage of renewable energy projects is often delayed or reliant on external consultants.
