We are looking for a Research Associate to work on data assimilation system for regional numerical weather prediction (NWP) system. The role will focus on exploring and adding new space‑based observations in the next‑generation NWP system jointly developed by the Climate and Weather Research Alliance Singapore (CAWRAS). The candidate needs to have a good working knowledge in data assimilation methods such as 3D/(D‑var), Ensemble methods and Kalman filters. Familiarity with JEDI‑based data assimilation system is a good advantage. Prior knowledge and experience in satellite observation, pre‑processing, quality control, error modelling and correction are an advantage. Good programming experience is required (e.g. Python, Fortran, C++).
