The Center for the Success of English Learners (http://cselcenter.org/) (CSEL) is seeking a part-time researcher (20 hours/week) for Summer, 2025. CSEL is a national research and development center funded by the Institute of Education Sciences, U.S. Department of Education that involves researchers from NYU, University of Houson, University of Texas, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Strategic Education Research Partnership, and Center for Applied Linguistics. Among a wide portfolio of projects at CSEL, Prof. Michael Kieffer is leading a study on English learners' opportunities to access the general curriculum and advanced course-taking in middle and high school. The study combines secondary analyses of administrative data from New York City Schools, analyses of original survey data to be collected at multiple sites in the U.S., and interview data with EL instructional leaders in New York.
