Position Overview
Job Description This project aims to study ciliopathies such as Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) and Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). By utilising human stem cell-derived models, the research seeks to further characterise these genetic disorders and evaluate potential treatments via gene therapy approaches. Maintenance of human pluripotent stem cell lines and multi-step directed differentiation to generate lung and kidney tissues, including the use of 3D organoids, air-liquid interface (ALI) cultures, and Flow Cytometry (FACS) for the characterisation and isolation of specific cell populations. Proficiency in core molecular biology techniques including cloning and PCR-based analysis for genetic characterisation. Production, titration, and application of viral vectors for gene editing and stable expression within differentiated cell models. Characterisation of ciliary morphology and protein localisation using multi-channel immunofluorescence and high-resolution confocal microscopy. Job ...
