Summary The Kansas City VA Medical Center is recruiting for Nursing Acute Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN). The Float Pool (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting. The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation. Responsibilities The Float Pool RN provides competent, evidence-based nursing care across multiple care settings, offering variety and flexibility in every shift. KCVA Float Pool RNs rotate across multiple units which include: Emergency Department - 19-bed unit Four Med-Surg/Telemetry units - typically a 4:1 patient ratio Inpatient Mental Health DOM-SUD - 21-day outpatient alcohol and substance abuse rehab program ICUs - Float Pool RNs care for med-surg/tele overflow patients only if floated to ICU.
