Detailed Overview

The Recreation Therapist assesses, plans, implements and monitors Recreation Therapy services which are designated to meet the individual needs and abilities of patients in order to maintain and improve their level of social and leisure function as they transition from the hospital setting to their home community. Participates in interprofessional team and family conferences and collaborates with other professionals. Responsibilities Provides input into the development of recreation programs in the assigned areas. Implements and evaluates recreation therapy programs and determines program modification as necessary. Promotes the patient/client's ability to access and participate in community resources that will help their transition from a hospital to home community setting.
