The Katherine Thomas School, a nonpublic special education school in Rockville, MD, is seeking to hire reading teachers/reading specialists for the 2026-2027 school year for grades 6-12. Reading teachers will either work for the middle school or the high school program. EOE

Responsibilities for the Reading Teacher include:


+ Provide targeted reading instruction using evidence based, structured literacy practices for students with a range of learning needs

+ Must know and implement a variety of alternative reading programs, (examples include: Wilson, Fundations, Edmark, Phono-Graphix, Read Naturally, Lexia, Earobics, Orton-Gillingham, Corrective Reading, Leveled Literacy Intervention, Lindamood Bell and others)

+ Deliver small group and/or individualized interventions aligned to student IEP goals


Annual salary range of $62,000 to $85,000, depending on experience and level of education
