Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Rail Wagon Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of freight wagons. This is a hands-on engineering role involving inspection, maintenance and repair work to ensure wagons remain reliable for ongoing service.
The Role:
Inspect freight wagons and accurately record findings on inspection sheetsCarry out planned and reactive repairs including welding, roof panel work, curtain (bache) repairs and general mechanical tasksPerform brake tests and safety checksCalibrate wheelsets and report findings to the team supervisorReview components and spares required for upcoming repairsLiaise with on-site rail operations teams regarding wagon movements and repair schedulingMaintain a clean, safe and well-organised working areaCommunicate effectively with supervisors and local management regarding progress, issues and priorities<...
