Position Overview
Job Summary:
The Radiation Safety Technologist assists with and supports the radiation protection program in a research hospital setting. Performs radiation survey measurements, analysis of wipe tests, receipt and processing of radioactive materials, lead apron inspections, and related record keeping. Maintains operational and calibration records for all radiation detection instrumentation. Coordinates decay in storage radioactive waste program. Assists with operations of the radiation dosimetry program. Serves as a member of the Radiation Emergency / Disaster team. Responds to and remediates radioactive material spills and emergency radiation safety events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree in a related technical field and 3 years of related experience OR Bachelors degree in a related technical field and 1 year of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Note: Final applicant will be required to submit to fingerprinting ...
