When a new medicine, vaccine or medical technology is developed, healthcare systems globally face decisions on whether to fund it, and for whom. These decisions involve complex trade-offs: How effective is the treatment compared to current alternatives? What are the costs over a patient's lifetime? How does it affect quality of life?

Decision analytic modelling in healthcare is the discipline that helps answer these questions. Using quantitative models (e.g., decision trees, Markov models, survival-based simulations and other mathematical frameworks) we synthesise clinical evidence, cost data and patient related outcomes to project the long-term value of healthcare interventions.
