The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is committed to increasing opportunities for low- and moderate-income New Yorkers by providing safe, affordable housing and facilitating access to social and community services. NYCHAβs Department of Resident Economic Empowerment & Sustainability (REES) is charged with working to develop and implement programs, policies and collaborations to measurably support residents increased economic opportunities with a focus on asset building, employment, advancement, adult education and training, and business development.
NYCHA was awarded a $3.7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to bring a Jobs Plus Program to Coney Island, Brooklyn.
