Position Overview
A co-mentored postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Department of Genetics and Thoracic Oncology under the direct supervision of both Dr. Vaishnavi and Dr. Gardner. Our research focuses on studying the molecular and biological processes governing the development and plasticity of cancer, histological transformation, the basis for environmental exposures and the development of cancer and improving the therapeutic responses for lung cancer. We are working towards producing translational discoveries leading to better methods of early cancer detection, improved cancer patient care and new cancer drug development. The range of our research includes cancer drug and biomarker development, cancer gene discovery, lung biology and development of novel genetically engineered or variations of mouse models to study human cancers.
