Job Summary:
A NIH funded Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the Martínez-De Luna Laboratory in the Center for Vision Research (CVR) https://www.upstate.edu/cvr (https://www.upstate.edu/cvr)) to investigate basic mechanisms by which the extracellular matrix regulates retinal ganglion cell axon routing at the optic chiasm. Specializing in developmental biology, we focus on how the extracellular matrix guides the development and connectivity of retinal ganglion cells, which are responsible for transmitting all visual information to the brain. We aim to uncover strategies that exploit the extracellular matrix to prevent blindness.

The Postdoctoral Associate will design, perform, and analyze experiments in the field of retinal cell biology, studying the basic mechanisms of retinal axon guidance by the extracellular matrix.
