Job Description

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department)’s Bureau of Hepatitis, HIV, and STIs (BHHS) oversees the City’s response to HIV, STIs, and viral hepatitis. Its mission is to improve the lives of New Yorkers by ending transmission, illness, stigma, and inequities related to HIV, STIs, and viral hepatitis. BHHS does this through: community engagement; epidemiologic and surveillance activities; policy advocacy; racial equity and social justice initiatives; research; strategic communications; testing, treatment, and prevention programming and services; and training and technical assistance.
