Job Description
The mission of a Planner/Buyer is to build and organize an efficient finite production schedule that maximizes production efficiency while minimizing raw material and work‐in‐process inventory, change‐over costs, and satisfies customers' required dates.
Release and manage production work orders in accordance with MRP, Kanban signals, production plan goals, and related planning data.
Review production capacity requirements: monitor reports and ensure capacity is available to meet the production plan.
Release and manage raw material orders through the MRP system as necessary to meet the production schedule.
Work with customer service personnel on maintenance of promise dates to the customer and provide customer service maintaining communication through the systems set.
