The Job:
An opportunity has come up for a Senior Stockperson to join a progressive pig unit within a mixed farming business. This is a hands-on role supporting the Unit Manager with the day-to-day running of an indoor pig system, working across all stages of production.
The unit runs a three-week batch system, with pigs moving through to modern weaner accommodation before finishing off-site. The farm is currently investing heavily in upgrades, including new farrowing and weaner buildings, with further developments planned.
You’ll be involved in all aspects of pig production, from farrowing through to serving, helping keep routines running smoothly and maintaining high standards of animal welfare and performance. There may also be opportunities to get involved in the wider farm, including sheep and arable work, if of interest.
