Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care and conducts a patient assessment and re‑assessment, establishing patient goals and care plans for physiotherapy services using various therapeutic techniques with or without assistive medical devices or equipment. Promotes patients’ physical wellness and treatments that include the ability to move to prevent or reduce pain, to restore function and prevent physical disability. Collaborates with other clinical professionals and multi-disciplinary teams to discuss patient goals and plans of care, developing fitness and wellness‑oriented programs to maintain a healthier and more active lifestyle for individual patients. Treats patients according to the established goals and plans, which are clinically indicated, appropriate, and prescribed by the Consultant or Physician, agreed upon by the patient and/or caregiver, and aligned with the department’s clinical policy and procedures.
