UPMC Shadyside is hiring a full-time Phlebotomist to join our team and support our Short Stay Unit!

+ This position consists primarily of two shifts 4:30 am-3:00 pm, 11:30 am-10:00 pm, or a mixture of each of those shifts with roughly 75% of those shifts being the morning shift. This also includes every other weekend rotation.

The person in this position has the responsibility and accountability for accurately performing phlebotomy and specimen collection of inpatients and/or outpatients. Samples collected by the phlebotomist are used for laboratory test procedures that are essential in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The Phlebotomist may also perform computer, courier, and clerical functions that are essential to laboratory operations. The Phlebotomist works in conjunction with and under the supervision of the Medical Technologists.
