The primary responsibility of the Phlebotomist is: consistently draw blood competently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible.
* Identifies the patient either by comparing patient information on the requisition to the patient's identification band or soliciting the patient's full name and date of birth verbally before venipuncture is performed.
* Reviews orders/requisitions for accuracy before drawing patients.
* Documents orders and collect information accurately in LIS.
* Displays a courteous, professional manner towards patients, co-workers, nursing members and medical staff.
