La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull (Barcelona) is offering a fully funded PhD position within the European MSCA Doctoral Network ABHSSYS, focused on advanced solutions for vibration and noise control in lightweight structures.

PhD Topic: Higher-dimensional sonic black holes for wave control and noise reduction

This project will investigate novel 2D and 3D sonic black hole concepts for broadband wave manipulation. The research combines analytical modelling, numerical simulation (FEM, GEM, ray-based methods), and experimental validation, including prototype fabrication and acoustic testing. Applications include noise reduction in cavities and waveguides, as well as advanced wave control strategies.
