Primary Role

Pharmacy Technicians perform the technical, product‑oriented tasks of the Pharmacy. The role may encompass any or many of the following areas depending on the needs of the patients, clients and the organization.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing of medications – work alongside the Pharmacist in filling prescriptions (new & repeat) by receiving and processing orders from patients and physicians (by telephone, fax, script or email) and transferring new telephone orders to the Pharmacist. Prescriptions are checked to ensure all information is on hand and appropriate before processing.
