Successful completion of the Course Work and Examination for Certification from the PTCB or ICPT Pharmacy Certification Boards.
If allowed by State Regulation, and authorized by the Pharmacist in Charge, receive oral prescriptions from prescribers or prescribers’ authorized designees. (This refers primarily to new telephone prescriptions.)
Provide and promote efficient and courteous service to customers at all times.
Answer telephone and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise or judgment.
Receive written prescriptions or telephone refill requests.
Gather information needed to prepare prescriptions.
Record information needed before prescriptions can be dispensed.
