About the Employer

About the employer I am both the employer and mother to my son who is diagnosed with Autism and Severe learning disabilities. My son is nonverbal; however, he is familiar with PEC cards and communicates his wants and needs through gestures, hand over hand guiding or pointing. He can meet his own personal care (toileting) however it will require prompt and assistance with his hygiene related (washing hands, wiping correctly. My son’s diet is poor, and he would happily graze on snacks etc.: all day if allowed. His meals and snacks will need to be monitored to promote and encourage his physical wellbeing and health. I am looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to assist in the provision of 1-1 support, to meet my son’s assessed needs by Together for Children, providing him with the opportunity to access social activities in the community with someone other than a family member and provide us with a break from our caring role as his parents. ...
