The per diem Supervisor Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients referred for speech, language, cognitive, and dysphagia dysfunction; acts as staff supervisor for the speech therapist team; maintains a daily caseload of patients and supervises staff on complex cases.
1.Administers speech/language and or cognitive evaluations, tests or examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairment.
2.Evaluates speech/language test results and medical or background information to determine speech impairment and treatment.
3.Counsels and instructs patients concerning communication disorders and how to cope with the stress and misunderstanding that may accompany them.
4.Provides patients, families and caregivers with ongoing counseling and education to facilitate communication.
