Peer Specialist - Mobile Crisis Intervention




Peer Specialists help to make Mobile Crisis Intervention Services welcoming, comfortable, supportive, and responsive to individuals who utilize them and their families. Using their personal experience and knowledge of navigating the greater system of care, Peer Specialists provide consumers with support, information, and assistance in connecting with and obtaining community-based resources and services.



In this vital role, the Peer Specialist will:


+ convey hope and provide psychoeducation, including information about recovery, rehabilitation, and crisis self-management

+ assist in arranging the services to which the individual is being referred after the MCI intervention, and they shall work with the person and family to support them during the transition to those follow-up services
