Description:

Engage, motivate and support patients within various levels of recovery with potential substance misuse admitted to inpatient medical units, the emergency department and the inpatient behavioral health unit. The position operates both independently and as an integrated member of a psychiatric consult liaison team.

Responsibilities:

+ Serve as a role model for individuals and their families by discussion of experiential knowledge and recovery skills

+ Educate and assist individuals and their families with navigating substance misuse treatment and resources

+ Coach individuals and their families about recovery regarding variations in coping styles, motivations, strengths and the resources of the individual

+ Identify, navigate and enhance motivation for engagement in various self-help and community recovery organizations
