Description We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Fairfield, New Jersey for a short-term Contract assignment expected to last 2-4 weeks. This onsite role will focus on resolving a high volume of payroll check issues, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on payroll experience, including large employee populations and multi-state processing, and can quickly step in to support critical payroll operations.

Responsibilities:
• Review and correct approximately 2,500 payroll checks that were issued inaccurately, ensuring each item is resolved properly and in a timely manner.
• Process payroll activities from start to finish while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and complete documentation.
• Handle payroll transactions for employees across multiple states in accordance with applicable wage and tax requirements.
