Position Overview
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To perform the full scope of pathologist assistant practice (surgical pathology and autopsy pathology) under the direction and supervision of medically qualified pathologists.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform high-quality macroscopic (gross) examination and dissection of simple to complex surgical pathology specimens and the related tasks arising within this scope of practice.Perform high-quality postmortem examinations across the full-scope of hospital and medical-legal/forensic autopsies with the pathologist and the related tasks arising within this scope of practice. This occurs in the setting of a hospital-based regional forensic pathology unit under the medical direction of a forensic pathologist.Daily coordination of position activities with pathologists, histology staff/senior, and laboratory management.On-going self-directed continuing education.Contribute to the enrichment of the l...
