The Center for Smart Engineering Materials (CSEM), New York University Abu Dhabi, are inviting applications for a Kawader fellows in the areas of thermal, mechanical and electrical characterization of materials.

The candidate will work as a research fellow with the CSEM and the Smart Materials Lab (Naumov research group). The role will involve preparing, characterizing and testing new smart materials, at the intersection of materials science, chemistry, and engineering. A strong background in thermal or mechanical characterization of the surface and bulk properties of solids from either science (solid-state physics) or engineering (mechanical) is a requirement. The specific research projects will focus on both experimental and modeling aspects of the effects of temperature on mechanical properties, such as ability for elastic or plastic deformation.
