Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join a luxury resort in Zanzibar. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in similar category hotels or resorts, with previous experience in Asia, Africa, and/or the Middle East. This role requires a high level of technical skill, creativity, and leadership to deliver exceptional pastry products aligned with the resortβs culinary standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee the pastry and bakery section of the resort.
* Design, develop, and update dessert, pastry, and bakery offerings for:
* Γ la carte restaurants
* Buffets
* Special events and banquets
* Ensure the highest standards of quality, presentation, and consistency across all pastry products.
* Supervise, train, and motivate the pastry team.
* Control food cost, waste, and ordering processes.
* Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene standards, and HACCP regulations.
