The USC School of Architecture invites applicants for a part-time faculty position in Structural Design and Engineering to lead a unique joint Civil Engineering and Building Science Design Studio for Fall 2026. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach an undergraduate level technical design studio on the architectural and structural engineering aspects of building system design. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of digital design, embodied carbon accounting, the state of the art of structural engineering, human factors considerations, controls, building standards, and sustainability performance criteria.


Candidates must demonstrate the ability to apply appropriate quantitative analysis techniques, (including appropriate software-based analysis tools) in the context of the architectural and engineering design process. Experience with contemporary digital design software tools is preferred.
