Position Overview

The Department of Film and Media Arts within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks Part-Time Instructor to teach FIL 250 M001 Topics in Film History & Culture: Horror, Culture & Violence, a 3-credit hour course, during the Fall semester, 2026.

This is a “special topics” course in Film History & Culture. The course will cover roughly four overlapping topics in horror, including eco-horror (horror and the environment), “horror noire”, women and horror, and horror as social metaphor (arising more directly from politics, famine, war, other violent displacements, and a range of identity issues such as disability).
