Position Overview

Parks & Recreation Groundskeeper
The City of Peoria seeks to hire a Groundskeeper in the Parks and Recreation department to perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks related to the reconditioning of baseball fields and turf maintenance, while assisting with the maintenance of facilities and grounds during various events and activities throughout the year. This is accomplished by assisting higher-level maintenance staff with the preparation and maintenance of baseball fields, grounds, and related facilities.
Essential Functions:
Prepare and maintain baseball fields, bullpens and related facilities utilizing a variety of hand and power tools, including edgers and weed eaters.
Assist with turf maintenance, including resodding, power washing and power brooming edges.
Assist with reconditioning of fields, including mounds, home plates, base passes, infield edges, replacing bases and base anchors and hauling materials.
