Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a dynamic Paramedic at our East Chicago, Indiana location. The Paramedic will act as a medium between our medical, fire, and safety departments. The ideal candidate is a certified Paramedic that assists other departments in executing additional safety tasks.The role will be part of our United Steelworkers (USW) union compensation, benefits, and pension agreement.Summary of Responsibilities:
+ Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standards.
+ Provide medical transportation internally and externally for employees of the plant.
+ Evaluate the patient’s condition on the scene and perform a preliminary diagnosis.
+ Attend to injuries or sudden illnesses by applying a variety of basic or advanced treatments.
