Identify potential safety or fire hazards, take action or recommend elimination.
Ensure fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, fire alarms, sprinkler systems and fire hydrants are operational; conduct fire drills and participate in fire prevention programs.
Lead employee safety and accident prevention programs.
Supervise security patrols to protect buildings and grounds from trespassing, theft, and vandalism.
Apprehend suspected thieves, vandals, or trespassers; contact police and detain until arrival.
Respond to all fire alarms, determine fire existence, attempt extinguishment, and contact fire department.
Write incident and accident reports and maintain activity records.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Schedule security personnel to ensure shift safety coverage, oversee inβhouse security staff, and provide training and instructions to subordinate Fire and Safety Officers.
