Key Responsibilities Pre-Operative - Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure OT is set up according to the surgical procedure list.
- Verify patient identity, consent forms, and surgical site as per hospital protocols.
- Assist in positioning and draping the patient safely.
- Conduct instrument, sponge, and needle counts with the circulating nurse.
Intra-Operative - Maintain strict aseptic techniques throughout procedures.
- Anticipate surgeon’s needs and pass instruments accurately.
- Monitor sterile field integrity at all times.
- Manage surgical instruments, sutures, and supplies efficiently.
- Ensure accurate surgical counts before closure.
Post-Operative - Assist with dressing of surgical wounds.
