Position Overview
Under the clinical supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant administers Occupational Therapy treatments to patients. Provides assistance to the Occupational Therapist by supplying objective measures to be utilized by the Occupational Therapist in evaluation of patient’s level of function and determination of treatment strategies. May work in an Inpatient, Outpatient, Home Care, Skilled Nursing, or Assisted Living environment. Assists the Occupational Therapist with aspects of clinical observation of patient by performing delegated duties and supplying objective measures to be utilized by the Occupational Therapist in evaluation of patients’ level of function and determination of treatment goals and plans in the areas of activities of daily living, leisure/play, and productivity/work.
