The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) is a vital member of the Occupational Health & Safety team. The OHN designs, delivers, maintains and evaluates prevention‑oriented occupational and environmental safety and health programs, and administers occupational health services to support a safe working environment for all mental health and addictions employees.
- Conducts health examinations and assesses work environments.
- Provides prevention strategies, health education and promotion programs.
- Offers counseling interventions and programs.
- Manages data collection, information systems and health surveillance programs.
- Assesses and follows up on work‑related injury/illness and participates in return‑to‑work planning.
- Develops education and wellness programs and monitors occupational illness/injury trends.
