Georgetown University and MedStar Health are seeking applicants for the position of Academic Chair
of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) for Georgetown University School of Medicine (GUSOM) and
the Clinical Chair for MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC).

The Position
The chair of OBGYN serves as both the academic chair of the School of Medicine department and the
clinical chief of women s health for MWHC. The chair oversees all undergraduate and graduate medical
education in the department and all basic, translational, and clinical research performed by department members. The chair also serves as chief of the academic division and chief of the clinical operations in
