Epsom Girls Grammar School is a school that strives for excellence: in performance, in the connections between people and in its pastoral supports. A large, secondary school for girls, they are located centrally in Auckland with a current role of 2,300 students. Their expert staff teach towards the national qualification NCEA, and starting this year also offer Cambridge International qualifications in some subject areas with this expected to grow over time.

Headed by a Learning Area Director, the Science faculty is the largest in the school with thirty-one staff. Five Heads of department (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth & Space and Junior Science) lead a staff of innovative educators with a passion for science education.
