Nontenure Faculty Pool – World Languages & Literatures – General Language Job Posting Number: NTL Position Description The Department of World Languages and Literatures at Texas State University seeks to develop a pool for temporary/nontenured faculty with expertise in world languages for positions at the rank of lecturer. The department offers majors and minors in Spanish, French and German, and a minor in Arabic, Chinese, Italian and Japanese. Successful candidates will be able to teach courses in the language in their area of expertise. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester by semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need.
