Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to support Virginia State University’s campus-wide networking environment in Petersburg, VA. This engineer will work in a mixed Juniper (85%) / Cisco infrastructure and will be heavily involved in hands‑on troubleshooting, cabling, switching, routing, and wireless support. The target pay rate for this position is between $30-$39/hr depending on experience.

This role requires someone who is motivated to learn, comfortable working across campus buildings, and ready to support end‑to‑end network operations including cabling, device testing, WiFi support, and platform troubleshooting. This is a highly collaborative, physical‑presence environment where engineers gain deep institutional knowledge and support a wide range of tasks.
