Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the technical supervisor and medical director, the MRI Technologist I demonstrates proficiency in all skills required to competently perform routine MRI procedures. All MRI technologists utilize knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and patient positioning to obtain high quality diagnostic images. The technologist competently evaluates the technical quality of the images obtained and makes necessary corrections to optimize the exam. They educate the patient/family about the procedure and report all changes in patient's status, including initiating emergency response if required. They accurately document patient information in the appropriate hospital systems. Hospital based positions may require call responsibility and rotation to hospital adjacent imaging center locations.
