Position Overview
The MR technologist works under the direction and supervision of radiology leadership and Lead MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures at a high technical level not requiring constant supervision. The Technologist assumes
responsibility for the safety of their patients and colleagues in their designated work area and takes corrective action when necessary to maintain such safety. The role involves significant patient interaction, technical skill, and adherence to strict safety protocols.
+ Perform MRI procedures: Generate high quality reproducible MRI scans based on physician orders and established protocols, position patients accurately and safely to capture the correct anatomical areas for diagnosis.
+ Prepare and educate patients: Obtain accurate medical histories and screen patients for any MRI contraindications, explain the MRI procedure and address any questions or concerns the patient may have, and investigate and research implanted devices as needed.
