Position Overview
**Description:** To develop, plan, layout, fabricate, and assemble sheet metal or extruded parts and assemblies for all types of aircraft, and/or special projects.
This occupation requires the development, assembly, rework, modification, calibration and operational check of hydraulic and pneumatic test equipment and aerospace ground equipment used to check aircraft systems and components and/or general purpose pneumatic/hydraulic equipment.
To develop and completely fabricate by hand forming methods aircraft parts such as those involving deep draws and reverse double or compound contours. To design and build temporary tools and fixtures. To use hand and power forming equipment and precision measuring equipment.
Must use a good knowledge of shop theory and of related aircraft work and the ability to determine work methods and plan sequence of operations. to apply a knowledge of the forming characteristics of various metals and alloys. Must be able to read and understand technic...
