Education: Graduate of accredited school of ultrasonography or radiologic technology; DMS registered preferred. Must have 1 year ultrasound experience or appropriate on the job training to be eligible for the Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
Training and Experience: Prior experience preferred; extensive on the job training.
Job Knowledge: Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas. Flexibility to work overtime as needed as well as on-call duty and disaster work as required by workload and/or unforeseen circumstances; must display a good understanding of age-related developmental issues of Neonate, Infants, Adolescence, Adult, and Geriatric; ability to follow oral and written instructions; communicate with patients, visitors and employees within the organization.
