To give absolute care to all outpatient and emergency cases attending Accident & Emergency Department.
To attend to all CODE BLUE.
To provide acute life‑saving care to any patient regardless of their financial disposition.
To attend to an acutely ill patient in the ward prior to the consultant’s arrival.
To accept pass‑over cases from resident Medical Officer in the previous shift.
To hand over cases to the Medical Officer in the next shift.
To write referral letters for any patient who need to be transferred‑out from the casualty.
To carry out procedures as follows in Accident & Emergency and in the ward: Intravenous cannula insertion, CBD insertion, Blood investigation, Blood C + S, Toilet and suturing if requested by patient and within the Medical Officer’s capability.
To refer patients to the appropriate consultant deemed necessary.
